Clearanced freezers at HyVee, $100 off!

Our freezer - we bought it last year thru HyVee

Haier freezer clearanced for $199 (50% off!)

This post is thanks to my hubby who made a visit to HyVee this morning.  Thanks for the pic, babe!  We bought our Haier freezer last year thru a frozen food deal at HyVee.  They did this deal again this year a few weeks ago and I guess that they have quite a few freezers left, because they are clearanced this week for $99.99.  This is an awesome price if you have been considering a freezer.  We love ours and it is full of food!  I would highly recommend taking advantage of this price if you are AT ALL considering an extra freezer.

Need to make a photo book? I know I do!

Shutterfly, one of my favorite photo websites, is offering a free 8 by 8 photo book today only.  These are amazing!  Perhaps you have a nice spring break trip you would like to capture forever?  Now is your chance.  Enter MYBOOK at checkout and pay $7.99 shipping.

Free printer paper at Staples!

I certainly hope that you never actually pay for printer paper, and if you do, I hope that you read this and stop that expense.  It seems that Staples often has a rebate going for free multipurpose paper.  You buy the paper in the store, give them the rebate coupon, and then submit for your rebate online.  It is super easy and you get your money within 4-6 weeks.  Sometimes they have rebates for photo paper or colored paper, it just depends.  Use the link to print off your rebate coupon and head to Staples.  If you don't get to it this week, don't worry, there will be another one in the next two or three weeks.

Taco Bell has a happy hour - who knew?

So, I saw this randomly and thought it was worth sharing.  Everyone knows about the Sonic Happy Hour, right?  My hubby certainly does as I send him out once a week for a nice Route 44 Diet Coke.  Check it out the next time you are out and about in the afternoon.

A little Easter candy shopping at Walgreens and CVS - Paid $9 and got back $4 for next time, so $5 for all this stuff! Retail was over $70!

Spent $9 plus tax and got back $4 to use for next time at CVS, so $5!
Did a quick run into Walgreens and CVS this morning.  All of the Snickers eggs were free after $1/2 Mars Easter candy from the newspaper from week of 3/17 as they were 50 cents apiece.  The gum was 19 cents as I used $1/2 coupon from the newspaper (I can't remember which week right now, sorry!)  We just happened upon the wipes and they were buy one, get one free at $2.29 apiece.  We were all over that deal as H's new trick is to dump all of his wipes and then break the hinges off of the bins.  He is certainly a boy!  We rolled a $10 ECB from last week at CVS to get all the M&Ms for free, and then they gave me $4 for next time!  Yay!

What Easter deals did you find?

My shopping at HyVee and Hen House for the week, Spent $72, Retail was $150!

At HyVee : Spent $43, Retail was $80!

At Hen House : Spent $29, Retail was $70!
So, we had a great time shopping this week.  We are stuck inside with the snow for the weekend, so we got out Thursday and Friday this week.  All these deals are good thru Tuesday, March 26th.

HyVee was fun because we found the deal on the Chobani.  We got Chobani that was expiring in a week for as low as $.15 apiece!  We are totally stocked on Easter eggs and picked these up for 99 cents.  Our big deal was the Wholly Guacomole for $1.  They were $2 apiece, and I had a $1/1 coupon so we picked up several.  I found some more coupons, so we will be heading back before the ads change on Wednesday. We also stocked up on special "princess grapes" and ground beef.  I must state again that the price of milk is crazy, almost $8 for two gallons of milk, yuck!

We headed to Hen House before the snow began yesterday.  We got the boneless skinless chicken for $1.99 a pound.  Our big excitement was the Land O-Lakes butter that we got for 99 cents.  We used 6 50 cents/1 coupons which double to $1.  We are good on butter for quite a while.

Not sure if we are going to make it to Price Chopper this week - we will see.  What good deals did you find this week?  Also, if you see any good candy or toy deals this week for Easter, please share them!  I would appreciate it!

Schick Hydro razor moneymaker at Target!

So, once I began the world of couponing, I discovered the world of really nice razors.  They make a HUGE difference as opposed to the disposable ones, and I can still get them for nearly free or free, in this case.  As you head to Target this week, bring along your coupons to do the following deal.

Buy 2 Schick Hydro Silk razors, $7.99, regular price.
When you buy 2, you get a $5 gift card.
Use 2 $4/1 coupons from  SS 2/24 and stack with $5/2 Target coupon coupons.target.com.
Pay $2.98 and get back a $5 Target gift card, making you $2.02!

I love my Target gift card deals!

Chobani at HyVee on Ridgeview for 15 cents! Paid $3.50 for 20 Chobani yogurts!

We headed to HyVee this afternoon to do our shopping.  We got everything we needed and headed to checkout.  I noticed the guy in front of me had like 20 Chobani yogurts in his cart, so I asked him about it.  He told me that many of the Chobani yogurts that were expiring in a week or so were marked down to 25 cents, and the pomegranate ones were 15 cents!  Holy cow!  My hubby loves Chobani, so we headed back and there was a TON of marked down yogurt.  We bought 20 of them and gave 8 to our good friend.  We will be eating a whole bunch of yogurt over the next week, for sure!

The breakdown:
Chobani Pomegranate flavor yogurt $1.30 regular retail
Clearanced at 15 cents so we bought 15 for a total of $2.25!
Chobani Honey flavor yogurt $1.30 regular retail
Clearanced at 25 cents, so we bought 5 for a total of $1.25!

Total of 20 Chobani yogurts for $3.50, regular retail of $26, a HUGE savings!

It is worth checking out if you are out and about.  I wanted to send my husband back, but we haven't made it yet.

My Target trip 3-20-2013 - spent $10 for retail of $35!

Here is my Target trip today.  Went to get some basics and to use some coupons.  The actual price was $15, but I rolled a $5 gift card from doing the diaper deal last week at Target.  I always try to do the gift card deals.  Here is the breakdown.

Dole Smoothie shakers $1.33 each on price cut
Used 2 75 cent coupons from the paper and $1/2 Target coupon coupons.target.com to make them 8 cents ea ch!
2 RE frames at $1.99 and $3.99
Used 2 $2/1 Target coupons (no longer available) to get a free frame and an 8 by 10 frame for $1.99!
Duncan Hines frosting starters 87 cents
Used 2 $1/1 coupons from coupons.com to get them for free!
Zone Perfect kids 5 pack of bars $3.99 each
Used 75 cents/1 Target coupon coupons.target.com and stacked with $2/1 coupon from Zone Perfect website (I think, I really can not remember where I got this one, sorry!) to get a 5 pack for $1.24!
2 Triscuit Brown rice boxes at $2.54 each
Used BIGIF from facebook and $1/2 coupon from Target coupons.target.com to get them for 74 cents each!
Oral B Stages toothpaste $2.54
Used 50 cents/1 coupon from last week's newspaper to get it for $2.04.  Not the best, but I let L choose the toothpaste she wanted.
No coupons for the juice, cookie mix, or sour cream.

Side note, I discovered Tropicana Farmstead juice thru a great friend and we love it.  One serving of fruit and vegetable in each 8 ounce serving.  It is pricey, but worth it for me.

Visit the Easter bunny for FREE at Bass Pro Shop!

We will be visiting the Easter bunny next week and we have made a tradition of visiting Bass Pro Shop to do it.  It is totally free which is great because I have a feeling that H will scream thru the whole picture and I don't want to have to pay like $20 for that experience!  They are doing an Easter egg hunt this year (right during naptime for us, but it might work for you.)

Buy one, get one free at Smashburger coupon!

We love Smashburger and will certainly put this coupon to good use!

Need some feedback - please help me out!

So I am getting ready to open up my website to a bigger audience (via facebook) and I want your advice or opinions on my website.  Things you like, don't like, things that are confusing, etc...I am totally addicted to couponing and I want others to join in this addiction with me!  Please leave a comment below, I would really appreciate it!
We love Pei Wei and when you order online either today or tomorrow, you can get 20% off.  I love finding deals on dining out because it is one of my favorite things to do.

CVS trip for $15, got back $10 ECB for next time!

Spent $15 out of pocket, got back $10 EBCs to use next time, so really spent just $5!
So, not all trips are so exciting, sometimes you just have to get some diapers and gum.  Every single time they do this promotion (usually once a month)  I ALWAYS do it as this is a great deal for diapers.  There is no way that H is ready for Pull ups or anything, but they work just fine for him during the day and the coupon was higher for Pull ups rather than the regular Cruisers.  Plus he loves the cars on them, a win for everyone!

Here is the breakdown:

Had $6 ECBs from last time and a $5 off a $30 purchase from my email.  Just sign up with CVS online along with your Extra Care card and you will get these coupons in your email as well.

Buy $30 worth of Huggies products, get $10 ECBs.
Buy 3 diapers (Pull ups and Slip ons) = $30
Buy Dentyne Ice $1.59
Used 3 $2/1 Pull ups and Huggies Slip On coupons from coupons.com
Gum was B1G1F and I had a $1/2 coupon from SS 3/17 to make them $.30 each.

Total out of pocket was $15 after coupons and received $10 ECBs to use next time.  $5 a bag for diapers is awesome, thanks CVS!

Bare Minerals major sale - today only!

Ulta is having a sweet sale on Bare Minerals mineral veil - today only!  I am a Bare Minerals girl, so I know the price of this stuff.  It is on sale for $12 - limit of 2 - regularly $20!  We will be heading there after H gets up from his nap on our way to Ace Hardware to get our free quart of paint.  If you know anyone who uses Bare Minerals, this is a sweet deal and it is online if you can't make it to the store.

Wal Mart trip March 11th - Total was $15, retail was $60!

Wal Mart - total was $15, retail was $60!

So this was pretty much a stock up trip for me.  My freebies were the 7 McCormick taco seasonings (coupon from March 2nd newspaper), the 4 Sun Bird seasonings from coupons.com , plus all of my feminine products.  Don't judge, they are a great donate item - I got 9 Poise for free.  There are more $3 off coupons in last week's newspaper so you can get your items for free as well.  My husband gave me a look as he was unpacking this, but said "this will be a great donation item!"  He is so on board with my couponing and I love him for it!

My splurge was the popcorn (I have to have it!)  Even though it is the cheapest at Wal Mart, it is one of the few things I will buy without a coupon or a sale.

I also price matched the shredded cheese a 99 cents from HyVee and the strawberries from Aldi's.  If you are not price matching, you are throwing away your money, not to sound harsh, but it is true.  Actually, when I got to the price matching stuff, she spouted out the price before I did and was already putting in the new price before I could say a word - that is awesome!  It is NO BIG DEAL to do this - all cashiers at Wal Mart expect it!

L was excited because I brought her some Sonic ice cream on the way home so I snapped her in the picture as well.  This was one of the very few times I was able to slip away by myself to the grocery and I have to admit, it was a bit lonely.  I was happy to return  home to my kids and husband, and even happier because I used a gift card on this purchase so I actually paid absolutely nothing!

Free quart of paint at Ace Hardware on March 16th!

You need to take advantage of this one!  Ace Hardware is giving away a free quart of paint on March 16th.  We will be using this to paint something in my daughter's room as she is transitioning to a big girl room.  Simply go to the link provided, print it and take to it your local Ace Hardware.

http://www.acehardware.com/coupon/

Also, if you live in the Olathe area, I just did the groupon for Ace Hardware.  If you bought it too, take it along as long as you are heading into the store.

My shopping at HyVee and Hen House (week of March 6th) Spent $46 for about $82 worth of stuff

So these deals are all good thru Tuesday, March 12th if you see something you like.  Almost half of my purchases were meat and milk.  Milk prices are ridiculous these days!  Almost $4 at Hen House for skim milk - that is nuts!

I did the Tostitos at HyVee which were 3/$6.  All you had to do was show the HyVee coupon which is in their flyer in the store.  I also got Chobani for $.70 with coupon, more shredded cheese for 99 cents, and popcorn.  Popcorn was not on sale,  but it is a necessity for me as I have a bowl of popcorn EVERY night after the kids go to bed.  My reward to myself.
Spent about $16 for $27 retail here.

Most of my money was spent at Hen House this week.  They have 93-7% this week for $2.99, normally well over $4.00.  I bought 5 pounds and spent $15 dollars.  I also got the milk for like $4, yuck! Eggs were 99 cents and I picked up the Kraft Fresh Takes for $1.00 with coupon from coupons.com. coupons.com
 I spent $30 for $55 retail here.

I will probably do the Tostitos thing again before Wednesday and will certainly get some more shredded cheese.  They have a limit of 2, but you can buy some each time you go there throughout the week.  You can never have too much shredded cheese, right?  I was just having this conversation the other day with one of my great friends.

Please read the following!
One thing to think about for those of you who don't coupon.  I did not use many coupons this week at the grocery store, only for the Kraft Fresh Takes and the Chobani.  Everything else was just bought because it was a stock up price.  Anyone can do this!  No coupons necessary!

An example is the ground beef.  I have seen the 93-7% meat as high as $4.50 a pound.  When it goes to $2.99, I will stock up.  I can make 16 meals out of this amount and that should last me the month.  So instead of going out next week and spending $4.50 on meat, I have bought it at its lowest price and do not have to pay a crazy price for it.

If you have any questions about stock up prices, please ask.  I feel like I have a really good handle on most of them by now.

Breakfast at Krispy Kreme

So, I hope some of you took advantage of the free donuts at Krispy Kreme today, we sure did.  I am not technologically savvy to figure out how to turn this picture so if you know, let me know.  We had a great time and the people at Krispy Kreme are so, so friendly!  I am getting a big addicted to these donuts!

Some trips are better than others

So I am pretty proud of my two beautiful children because they are generally well behaved while grocery shopping (usually with the aid of a snack or two or three.)    We went to Target because H was very low on diapers and we needed more vitamins for him.

The good stuff:

Somehow we ended up in clothing and shoes for like 30 minutes (thanks to a great tip from a great friend) and picked up pants for $2.50 each.  We also found Dora shoes for $3.88 (please check out kids shoes department as many are clearanced for as much as 70% off. Yay!

The not so good stuff:

I think H screamed for a solid 30 minutes in the cart.  At one point, he was fighting so hard to get out of the seat belt that he had somehow flopped his body into the main part of the cart and was upside down.  As we checked out, the cashier lady (who I loved, by the way) said "it sounds like your boy is having a rough time."  I said;  "Yes, I am sure that you heard him from the back of the store."  She pauses, and then, "well, maybe not that far back."  Nice.

Free Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut on Sunday!

I wanted to make sure everyone makes a trip to Krispy Kreme on Sunday.  They are doing a special for daylight savings time and offering each customer a free glazed doughnut, no purchase necessary.  I am in LOVE with their donuts (the low fat ones of course) and you can bet that we will be there on Sunday morning.  Who's going with me?

Good deals for the week of March 6th

So my husband and I spent time this afternoon clipping and organizing coupons, doesn't that sound like fun?  Well, he is great, and was a big help.  I was way behind and overwhelmed with it, so he jumped in to help and we finished in no time.

Just wanted to give you a heads up on some of the hot deals for the week (in my opinion...)

Hen House:
Eggs are 99 cents (limit 2)
All Cheerios are $1.88 - there are coupons to print off coupons.com. Also, Wheaties are on sale if you are into those, I am not!
93%-7% ground beef is $2.99 a pound which is stock up price for good lean hamburger.  We all know how much it is when it is not on sale.  Buy 5 pounds and you won't have to buy it full price next week!
Kraft Fresh Takes are $2.00.  There are $1/1 coupons on coupons.com to make them $1 each!  I discovered these thru couponing and use them to add something extra to the meat.  I also use them to make chicken parm.

HyVee:
Shredded cheese is 99 cents (limit 2)
Tostidos are 3/$6 which is stock up price.  We are HUGE fans of chips and guac in our house!

Price Chopper:
80%/20% ground beef is $1.97 per pound

Let me know of other deals you know of - would really appreciate it!  :)

Target and Price Chopper trips - Paid $33 for $79 retail and got back $10 in gift cards!

My Target and Price Chopper shopping trip on March 6, 2013
So, after being stuck inside with the crazy snow and a sick kid, I was really itching to get back out and get some deals.  Between using coupons and knowing my rock bottom pricing (this is when an item is at a low price and I stock up without using a coupon) I had a good time.

I spent $12 at Price Chopper for $30 worth of groceries.  I was excited about the 99 cent shredded cheese (stock up price), the 99 cent juice, and the fish sticks.  They were on sale for $2.99 and I had a $1 off coupon, making them just $1.99!

I headed to Target today and had a great time, spending $21 for $61 worth of groceries and got back $10 in gift cards, so really only $11!

Both kids were on their best behavior (with the snacks I brought with me) and my checkout went off without a hitch.  I found a new favorite checkout boy, because us couponers know the importance of a great cashier.

I got pasta sauce for 25 cents using 2 $1.50/2 target coupon, Campbells soups to go for 29 cents after stacking 2 $1/1 coupons with 2 $1/1 target coupons, M&Ms for $1.38 after stacking $1.50/2 manufacturer coupons with $1.50/2 target coupon, and Quaker chewy bars stacking $1/2 manufacturer coupon with $1/2 target coupon making them $1 each.

Also, Target is doing a buy 4 Oral B toothbrushes and get a $5 gift card. I bought 4 toothbrushes at $1.74 each and used used $1/1 coupons from P&G 3/3, making them 74 cents each.  I bought 4, making them roughly $3 total and got back a $5 gift card, making me $2!  They are doing the gift card thing for Nutra Grain products; when you buy 5 products, you get a $5 gift card.  I bought 4 Nutra Grain bars at $2.54 and a Nutra Grain eggo at $2.  I used 2 $1/2 coupons; paying roughly $10, so after gift cards, I paid $5 for all 5 products.

If you are wondering where these coupons are, it is really easy.  Simply use coupons.com and coupons.target.com.  You can print each coupon twice.

I am already planning my Hen House trip as there are some sweet deals this week.  More on this later on in the week.

Snow storm in Kansas City - 20 inches!

My girl by the snowman.  She really liked the snowball maker.

Looking out our front door

We had a great time in our snow storm!  We had over 20 inches of snow over the course of a week and one day we woke to find a tree down in our driveway.  L was not too excited about the snow and H had some serious trouble walking in it.  Hopefully they will be more into it next year?!  We are really looking forward to seeing it all melt very soon.
