Price Chopper trip: Paid $50 for $100 retail!

We headed to Price Chopper today - my kids were not super excited to go, but it ended up being a good trip.  It really does pay to have a very detailed list that I actually stick to.  We were in and out within a half hour.  So, I used a few coupons, but mostly, I just bought items that were at stock up prices, which anyone can do!  I took advantage of the Kraft promotion (buy 10 products, get $10 off instantly.)  I bought 4 Oscar Meyer deli meats, 2 Oscar Meyer hot dogs, 2 Planters peanuts and 2 Velveeta Shells and Cheese.  I used 1 $1/2 coupon I found on peanuts jar last week and still paid $17 for all 10 items.  I bought the Vitamin Water at 49 cents each, along with the 19 cent corn (limit 8.)  Ground beef is $1.89 this week and the lowest I have seen it in months was $1.99, so STOCK UP.  We bought 10 pounds and froze it.

By the way, yesterday, I wrote about the coupon policy stating that you could not use a coupon on a free item.  Well I used my coupons today and they went thru just fine, including the ones for the free item.  Makes for some awesome deals.   For example, I bought the Kraft Recipe Starters ($3.29)
They were BOGO. I used 2 $1/1 coupons so I paid $1.29 for 2 Recipe Starters which makes for 65 cents Recipe Starters!  I will probably head back and pick up a few more.

Also, I bought the Nabisco Premium rounds for 66 cents after coupon and the ground beef was $1.99/lb, a stock up price for me.

HyVee:
The Goldfish were $1.25 on Thursday and Friday, so I picked up 4 of those.  I also bought the Duncan Hines cake mixes for 99 cents.  I also bought the Sabra hummus which were BOGO (3.99 each) and used 2 $1.25/2 coupons to pick these up for 75 cents!  The chips are $1.66 each with in ad coupon (which is stock up price.)  Also, we are cleaning our carpets and I bought some Rug Doctor stuff.  It is $14.99 and there is a $5/1 in ad coupon plus there were $3 hangtag coupons on the product, so I picked one up for $6.99.  Hope it works out!

Wrong coupon policy at Price Chopper

So I was planning my trip to Price Chopper for tomorrow and I double checked the coupon policy since I was planning to use coupons on free items.  Well, I was wrong about them allowing a coupon on a free item, it specifically states you can not use a coupon on a free item which is a bummer since both Hen House and HyVee allow these.  Oh well, I will still ask tomorrow when I am there and we will see what they say...

Need to get something at Dick's Sporting Goods tomorrow?

Tomorrow, August 10th, you can get at free $10 digital gift card to use at any Dick's Sporting Goods store.  You just need to visit Dick's Sporting Good's facebook page, like the page and it will send the information that you need to your email.  Just print or show the confirmation email to your cashier tomorrow.  You must shop between 9 am and 3 pm.
